Where I’ve Been and What’s Next with my books

There has been a lot happening behind the scenes at B. Groves Author.

However, I think it’s time I finally explained where I’ve been and why some things have taken longer than expected.

Update.

This year did not go according to plan and I lost my momentum.

On May 20, 2026, I broke my fibula, which immediately changed a lot of my day-to-day life.

Things that were normally simple became difficult.

My writing, publishing, and business work all had to slow down while I focused on healing.

This Update explains the impact on daily routines.

Then, just as I was beginning to find my footing again, my sister, Rose Ann, unexpectedly passed away on June 2, 2026.

That loss hit me hard.

Rose Ann was one of my biggest supporters and one of my biggest cheerleaders when it came to my writing. She followed my books, supported my work, and encouraged me to keep going. I have decided to dedicate Seasons of the Hollow to her memory, so in a very real way, she will remain part of this series.

Needless to say, writing and marketing books became a little harder to keep up with.

That doesn’t mean I’ve stopped.

Quite the opposite.

I’ve been working behind the scenes, slowly getting things back into place, and trying to find my rhythm again.

So, where does everything stand?

The Rootwalker is out now and is the second book in Seasons of the Hollow.

The Feasting Ground, which was originally planned for August, has been delayed.

Additionally, I am taking the time I need to finish it properly. I will not rush it simply because I announced a date.

And yes, there is still a fourth book coming.

The final installment is taking shape.

Moreover, I have even been reconsidering its title because I am unable to leave well enough alone.

I’m also continuing to work on the audiobooks, website, and everything else that comes with being an independent author and running my own design business.

If you’ve noticed things quieted down, we have delayed releases, or I have disappeared for a while, you now know why.

I’m still here.

I’m still writing.

And Seasons of the Hollow is still very much alive.

Thank you to everyone who has stuck around, bought a book, read a page, listened to the audiobook, shared a post, signed up for my newsletter, or simply sent me a kind message.

It means more than you probably realize.

I’m finding my way back, one story at a time.

And I promise…

The Hollow isn’t finished with you yet.
